Next, select the clip(s) to apply the copied effects and go to Edit > Paste Effects. Simply select the Effects in the Effects panel, using Command (Mac) or Control (PC) to make multiple selections, then copy. If you need to duplicate a set of Effects or Attributes from one clip to another, it’s easy in FCPX. This is especially helpful when tweaking audio or video on a selection of similar clips. The Adjustment Layer is blank, so next, you’ll apply Effects to it. ![]() It will appear as a narrower purple bar, exactly like a title would. Click and drag the adjustment layer to your timeline above your clips. You’ll find the Adjustment Layer in the Titles window. For example, instead of color grading or adding a LUT to every single clip, you can simply place an adjustment layer across a selection of clips and see it applied automatically. Think of adjustment layers like filters you apply to one or multiple clips. You may also want to organize clips with keywords denoting subject, location or scene number. To mark a favorite, select the clip and type F. The Smart Collection folder allows you to quickly see projects, favorites and even still images at a glance. Projects are the timelines you build with the contents of the Events folders. The FCPX library is a folder system made up of Events and Projects. Experienced editors have a well-developed system of organization that they apply to almost all of their projects. Organizing the FCP libraryĪs mentioned, the FCP Library has many tools for organization. Access the keyword editor by clicking Command+K. Once clips are marked, you can also assign easily searchable keywords, thus saving time. Now you have an edited rough cut to work with. A Final Cut Pro tip for beginners when editing stringouts is to scrub through all clips on a timeline, mark your selects, duplicate that project, then delete all the unmarked clips. You can mark clips as chapters this way or even make to-do lists for these marked clips. All markers appear in the Index under Tags and can be easily scrolled through. Just move the playback head to the clip you want to mark and press M. ![]() Marking selects in the Final Cut Pro timeline is easy. To Snapshot a project, select it, then right-click and choose Snapshot Project from the dropdown menu. Snapshot simply makes a copy of your project so you can continue editing without affecting the previous cut. Remember to change your view settings back to Optimized/Original before exporting.Įasily duplicate projects with Snapshot and avoid losing previous cuts. You should do this even when adding stock footage. Proxy clips are smaller versions of your original clips and won’t drag during playback. Allow the clips to process, then set your view to Media Playback > Proxy Preferred. For your Final Cut Pro import, select Create Proxy Media, which is optimized for smaller file size and faster editing process. If importing 4K clips or long clips such as interviews, it’s best to transcode footage before you drop it on the timeline. How you import, process and organize your clips is one of the best ways to save time and avoid stress in editing. The magical spear of Odin was believed to always hit its intended target.Īs a symbol of Odin, it represents wisdom, courage, strength, precision and inspiration. Similar to Mjolnir, it was also crafted by the dwarves. Well, Gungnir is Odin’s own weapon with magical properties. If you are interested in Norse mythology or its pop culture representations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you surely are familiar with Mjolnir, the magical hammer of Thor, the god of Thunder. Trple Horn of Odin By Anne Mathiasz on Shutterstock Gungnir, The Spear of Odin As An Odin Symbol This is how the triple horn symbol became one of the prominent symbols of Odin. #VALKNUT TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND SERIES#Triple Horn of Odin by Bourbon-88Īccording to the legend, the Mead of Poetry and Wisdom, also known as the Mead of Suttungr granted wisdom to whoever drank it.Īfter a series of events, at the end of his pursuit of the magical mead, Odin confronted Gunnlöd the jötunn/giant guarding the mead, fooled her and drank the mead three times over a period of three nights and gained wisdom. This symbol featuring three interlocking horns is a reference to the myth regarding Odin and the Mead of Poetry and Wisdom. The next item in our list of Odin symbols is the Triple Horn of Odin. The Triple Horn of Odin Also Known As The Horns of Odin And this is also the reason why Valknut is considered a pagan symbol.Ĭlick here to read our article on Valknut the Knot of The Slain Warriors. Therefore, it is believed by some experts that valknut, which is essentially a knot/binding, might have been used by practitioners of seidr with similar intentions. Seidr practices heavily featured imagery and symbols. He could also unbind their minds and provide relief to them by removing fear. According to the belief, Odin had the power to bind people’s minds with his magical powers and make men panic during battle. Odin is known as the chief practitioner of seidr (pronounced as SAY-der), the Norse practice of magic. Valknut, Odin’s Symbol and the Serpent by Mikhail Balashov on Shutterstock Not to mention the fact that many of the artworks featuring valknut were discovered on belongings in ship burial sites and memorial stones, all related to death and the transition from this life to another.Īnother reason for valknut being a popular Odin symbol today is about Odin being the god of magic in Norse mythology. It is because most of the archeological findings featuring the valknut symbol either has Odin himself on them or his animal companions, namely ravens and wolves, which are also considered Odin’s symbols. Odin,in addition to being the god of death, is also known as the god that carried the souls of the dead to the underworld (and back to the world of living sometimes). It was believed in Norse mythology that the warriors who fell in battle would go to Halls of Valhalla in Asgard to live in Odin’s company. Valknut, the Symbol of Odin by Bourbon-88 on Shutterstock ![]() The term ‘valknut’ is a compound word in Norwegian language and it simply means ‘the knot of the fallen/slain warriors’ as in ‘the knot of warriors who died in battle’. What the symbol was called at the time of its emergence is also not known. In fact, even the name ‘valknut’ was given to the symbol in the modern era. That said, it still could not be determined to this day how or when the symbol actually emerged. Care must therefore be used to correctly interpret this symbol in whatever context in which it may be found.Valknut, the Knot of the Slain by Tata Donets on Shutterstock Consequently, the use of the Iron Cross in a non-racist context has greatly proliferated in the United States, to the point that an Iron Cross in isolation (i.e., without a superimposed swastika or without other accompanying hate symbols) cannot be determined to be a hate symbol. By the early 2000s, this other use of the Iron Cross had spread from bikers to skateboarders and many extreme sports enthusiasts and became part of the logo of several different companies producing equipment and clothing for this audience. In the United States, however, the Iron Cross also became one of several Nazi-era symbols adopted by outlaw bikers, more to signify rebellion or to shock than for any white supremacist ideology. After World War II, the medal was discontinued but neo-Nazis and other white supremacists subsequently adopted it as a hate symbol and it has been a commonly-used hate symbol ever since. During the 1930s, the Nazi regime in Germany superimposed a swastika on the traditional medal, turning it into a Nazi symbol. The Iron Cross is a famous German military medal dating back to the 19th century. ![]() ![]() ![]() With a few friends over, the melee mode is clearly the king and the variety of moves for the insanity helps the game become something better. ![]() ![]() There are many other areas of clumsiness in the game that are laughable when up close to the camera in the one-on-one battles, but these fade away in importance in the four-player battle which is the clear focus of the game. When the monster is held up he'll still be stuck in one pose unless the player tries to fight to wiggle free. The monster being grabbed suddenly goes completely stiff and straight and then slides towards the grabber as if by tractor beam. A personal favorite is the grabbing move when one monster picks up another. This clumsiness has other effects in the battle system with moves that are forcibly linked together that show off many seams in the design. #Godzilla save the earth ps2 for sale moviechunks can get taken out), but the feeling of the game is like seeing a movie being filmed on a set that's filled with cardboard boxes painted up as office towers. There are a few skyscrapers that have some damage (i.e. The building shakes a bit and slowly slides to the ground as a little pile of rubble grows to meet it. The buildings almost all share the same way of falling down. This lack of polish is seen in many other parts of the game in several different areas. The overall effect doesn't seem to be that much more evolved that the movies with the overheated men in the stuffy rubber suits. If anything, this is a B-game for the B-movies with the slow controls for the characters and the slow movements in the animations themselves. One of the biggest assets and problems with the game is that it mirrors pretty closely the action of the movies. It's a party game with a little bit of depth, but nothing to really dig into with a buddy over several sessions. After that there is a bit of strategy to learn and some tactics, but to be honest it's not really that much. It's entirely possible to jump into the four-player mode and duke it out with some friends and have a great time doing it, pulling off some cartoonish moves like spinning Godzilla on a spike, and not worry at all what the buttons really do. The fighting in the game is deceptively simple at first and deceptively deep as it progresses even further. The title is also a complete lie since much of the game is about destruction of buildings by bashing them or even throwing them around. To up the ante there are now a total of 18 monsters to fight with, an increase from the original 11. There's lots of breathing of fire, punches, tail whips, and even monsters tossing each other into skyscrapers. The appeal of Save the Earth is the same as before: up to four classic monsters from the Godzilla movies get on screen to duke it out. ![]() ![]()

MGS 5 proves that to be false - he wants you to do that yourself. It's long been said that Hideo Kojima has been more obsessed with emulating his favourite films than making true games. When it all went tits up and you were forced to detonate C4 stashed across an enemy base, before riding into the sunset on your own personal chicken-mech? You were the architect. That time you pulled off a tense, magical heist alongside your mute sniper buddy? That was all you. The switch to wide-open spaces featuring multiple missions not only makes this an embarrassing masterclass for the rest of the world's stealth-action developers, but effectively turns every player into their own spy film director. Yes, it's packed with the off-kilter jokes, mechanical ingenuity and conspiracy theories so wild they're seemingly drawn from the darkest of the internet's depths - but at it's core, this is a very different kind of Hideo Kojima game. If we didn't know better (or should that be worse?), we'd say Konami took the Hideo Kojima brand off of his last stab at MGS 5: The Phantom Pain because it feels quite so different to his previous efforts.
